Terms and Conditions of Sale – La Bonne Librairie

1. Nature of the Products
La Bonne Librairie sells second-hand books in “as is” condition. The condition of each book is indicated on its individual product page. All books are pre-owned, and may show signs of wear (such as yellowed pages, folded corners, or slightly damaged covers), but we do not sell books that are torn or unusable.
Books are sold within India only.
2. Prices
All books are sold at fixed prices, based on the following categories:
Adult literature in French:
Pocket novels & classics: ₹100
Hardcover novels: ₹300
Documentaries (history, psychology, etc.): ₹200
Adult literature in English: ₹50
Children & Teen books:
Small books & board books: ₹50
Softcover albums: ₹100
Recent hardcover albums: ₹150
Language learning methods: ₹200
Graphic novels (BD): ₹200
Magazines & periodicals (all ages): ₹10 or ₹50
Art books (French and English): ₹400
Prices are subject to change and are valid as of 11/03/2025.
3. Orders and Payments
Orders are placed through our online catalog.
Indian customers must pay in advance via UPI or PayTM, directly connected to our WooCommerce store.
Foreign customers may pay in cash on delivery, upon prior agreement with the team.
Orders will be processed within 5 working days after payment is received.
4. Shipping
Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer.
Customers must arrange the courier or postal service of their choice. We do not offer integrated shipping options at this stage.
5. No Returns or Cancellations
All sales are final.
Due to the nature of second-hand sales and our non-profit model, we do not accept returns, cancellations, or refunds under any circumstances, except in case of proven error on our part.
6. Liability
La Bonne Librairie is a volunteer-led, non-profit initiative. We do our best to ensure accurate descriptions and good-quality service. However, we cannot be held liable for delays in shipment, third-party courier issues, or slight variations in book condition.
7. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute shall be settled under the jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi.
8. Kindness Clause
La Bonne Librairie is a solidarity-based project run by volunteers. We kindly ask customers to be understanding as we grow and refine our logistics and offerings.sqazw
