To cure Merlin, who has lost his will to live, the fairy Morgan sends Jack and Annie to find the last secret of happiness, this time in Antarctica. Bundled up on the ice among a family of emperor penguins, the children sneak into the American McMurdo research base posing as reporters and join an expedition, until their cover is blown. Fleeing, they tumble into a crevasse and meet a crowned emperor penguin who leads them to a magical cave. Part of the Magic Tree House series.
