Summary
Hélène is almost forty. Born in a small town in eastern France, she earned fine degrees, a career, two daughters and a designer house above Nancy. She achieved her teenage dream: to get out, change worlds, succeed. And yet a sense of waste lingers. Christophe has just turned forty and never left their hometown. He sells dog food, dreams of playing hockey again as he did at sixteen, and lives a quiet, undecided little life, still convinced anything is possible. Connemara is the story of the accounts we settle with the past, and of that tremor at midlife when the urge to start everything over rises within us.
