Violette Toussaint is the caretaker of a cemetery in a small Burgundian town. Passersby and regulars come to warm themselves in her lodge, where laughter and tears mingle with the coffee she offers them. Her days are shaped by their confidences. One day, when a man and a woman decide to rest together in her plot of earth, everything shifts.
