La Bonne Librairie is a nonprofit second-hand bookstore based in New Delhi, India. We offer pre-loved books at affordable prices, with all proceeds supporting the Mehrauli Community Library — a free, community-run library.
Our mission is 100% circular and 100% charitable. By choosing our books, you’re not only reading more sustainably, you’re directly supporting access to free education and culture in Delhi.
📚 We mainly offer books in French, but also have selections in English, Spanish, German, Hindi, and other languages.
Book Prices – Simple and Fair
All our books are second-hand, carefully sorted, and priced with accessibility in mind. Here’s how we keep it fair:
📚 Novels, graphic novels & paperbacks — ₹100
📖 Academic books, philosophy & essays — ₹150 to ₹200
👧 Children’s books — ₹80 to ₹100
📘 Beautiful/large-format books — ₹400
🗣️ Language learning books — ₹200
📰 Magazines (less than 10 years old) — ₹10
📦 Older or small-format titles — ₹50
Donate Your Books
We gladly accept book donations in good condition — especially in French. We also welcome books in other languages on occasion.
We do not accept:
- CDs, DVDs or any digital media
- Books in poor condition (torn, heavily annotated, moldy, etc.)
We do accept:
- Dictionaries and encyclopedias (up to 2 volumes)
- Magazines published within the last 10 years
- Language textbooks, illustrated books, novels
